Paul’s success, however, was neither automatic nor guaranteed. Growing up in a small town in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts, he had no mentor, coach, leader or role model. Although born into a family of hairdressers and barbers, Paul’s family – with the exception of his uncle – discouraged him about becoming a hairdresser.
